Balcony Essentials: Protecting Your Washing Machine

I replaced a Sanyo washer with a Sharp six years ago.

At the time, I didn't think I needed a washer cover, but about 5 years later, I started having a lot of situations where the start button would become unresponsive. It seems that rainwater has gotten into the circuit board? Besides, the direct sunlight and ultraviolet rays are deteriorating it.

I continued to use it deceptively, and before I knew it, the end-of-wash sound stopped sounding, so I didn't know when it had finished.

I was looking at washing machines at Bic Camera on Saturday and a clerk approached me. I told him what was going on and he told me that I should buy a new one during the Golden Week discount campaign, because I didn't know when it would break down. Otherwise, by the time it was completely broken, the campaign would be over and it would be more expensive, and I would not be able to get it right away.

The lid of a modern washing machine cannot be opened while it is in operation, right? Not a few people want to check how is inside, do they?

Sanyo washing machines were said to be the best, but now they have been bought by a Chinese company and are now AQUA.

The washing machine is also a 7kg type, from the regular price 49,800 yen with a 4,000 yen discount for home appliance sales promotion.

Add the recycling fee of 4,730 yen and the installation fee of 1,100 yen, and the total is 51,630 yen. The machine was just in stock. I decided to have it delivered between 12:00 and 15:00 on Monday.

Realizing that a washing machine cover is essential if you are going to have a washing machine on your balcony, I ordered one at Amazon.

A few hours after having the new washer replaced, the washer cover arrived and was installed on the washer.

Today is a rainy day. I am happy that I made it in time.
