6 Shrines in Matsubara to visit for good luck

Every year I go to the Yamato River to watch the first sunrise with my jogging friends.

Unfortunately, last year we could not see the sunrise due to thick cloud cover, but this year we were able to see it perfectly.

I usually go to Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine with my family on January 2, but that event was not possible this year. Instead, I decided to make another form of first visit of the year to a shrine on January 3.

One of my jogging friends planned to visit six shrines in Matsubara City. Strictly speaking, one of the six is in Osaka City.

This is an event to visit the following six shrines from New Year's Day to the 15th of the New Year.

Nunose Shrine
Gado Hachiman Shrine
Amamikoso Shrine
Miyake Shrine
Ao Shrine
Shibagaki Shrine

Nagai Park → Amamikoso Shrine (receive an ema) → Gado Hachiman Shrine (no stamp of visitation because the shrine office is not yet open) → Nunose Shrine → Shibagaki Shrine → Ao Shrine → Miyake Shrine → Gado Hachiman Shrine (get the stamp of visitation) → Amamikoso Shrine (get a zodiac sign papier-mâché) → Nagai Park

Amamikoso Shrine - in Osaka city

Gado Hachiman Shrine

Nunose Shrine

The “Chinowa” is a large ring made of thatched grass.
It is used for purification ceremonies such as Natsukoshi-no-harae (summer purification), and it is believed that by going through the ring, one can avoid epidemics and disasters.

Ao Shrine

Miyake Shrine

In other words, it is a stamp rally, but the reception starts at 9:00 a.m., so it was too early. We ended up having to visit the same shrine twice. As a total distance, it was more than a half marathon.
