Do you think SSL is nessesary?

At the end of last month, Google said that EV SSL by Symantec might be distrusted.

Actually LDP (Liberal Democratic Party of Japan) website is used the EV SSL. If you visit the website from Edge or IE, no problem like this

but if you visit the website from Google Chrome, no  SSL sign.

Your connection to this site is not private completely

Google says SSL is strongly recommended but my website is not base on WordPress or something. wanichan.com is static. I have been maintaining my website ever since January 1999. That's before blog services were popular.

Do you think I should adopt SSL for my website? There are more than 11,000 according to Google index status report.
